Picasa (version: 3.8) is one of the highly efficient softwares which is mainly used in manipulating photos and videos. This software is freely available on net. It takes less memory and is highly efficient. One can use this software as photo viewer as well as photo editor. While viewing a photo it makes the photo visible forward and send the windows backward. That is photo gets enlarged and gets highlighted. This makes the software more attractive.
Editing part of this software consists of fill light, cropping, fixing, red eye, straighten, color temperature, sepia, etc. The editing part has 3 parts. They are basic fixes, tunning and effects. Basic fixes consists of crop, straighten, red eye, auto contrast, retouch, etc. Tuning consists of fill light, highlight, shadows, etc. Effects consists of sharpen, tint, sepia, etc.
One can zoom the photo, make the necessary adjustment and make the photo beautiful. It contains all the basic editing tools. Once this software is been installed in the system, all the photos in the system gets automatically uploading in the library of this software. This limits the work of the user. One can create album of photos. It can also be uploaded to web.
To upload the photos to web, picasa has its own website. Picasa is basically designed by google. Hence user having gmail account need not register. He can directly login by using gmail username and password. One can upload photos to picasa and share the photos with his friends. He can share the photos by sending the link through email. User need not copy the link and send it to his/her friends. The website provides an option called share. By clicking this user can share the photos with his/her friends. While uploading the photos the photos get compressed and size of the photo may vary. Even the clarity of the photos may change after uploading the photos to web.
User can also send the photos through mail by using picasa. In the picasa windows application there is an option called email. By clicking this, user can select numerous photos or select an album and send the photos. The only disadvantage in this is that the photos get compressed to its smaller size, while sending through mail. This is because gmail can only attach maximum up to 25MB memory.
One can blog, shop, print, collage the photos by using the picasa windows application. Picasa also provides video editing tools. One can make a movie by using images and videos and upload it to picasa web. He can also take snapshot, upload to youtube and export the clip by using picasa.
